POSITION PURPOSE: The
Freedom School Site Coordinator is responsible for providing supervision to the day-to-day operations of the Freedom School Site in accordance with program guidelines and expectations
. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Supervise Servant Leader Interns and report to the Program Director.
- Aid site leadership in recruiting, hiring, training, and managing staff.
- Ensure all staff attend required trainings and take part in local pre/post-training sessions.
- Maintain site safety by securing background checks, enforcing guidelines, and ensuring staff, scholars, and parents understand site policies.
- Support site staff in planning and implementing all program components with fidelity.
- Provide necessary books, materials, and supplies by reviewing lesson plans.
- Conduct daily debrief sessions to offer technical support and keep site cohesion.
- Communicate regularly with national staff and the Program Director.
- Help with recruiting children and families, including home visits and recruitment fairs.
- Reinforce student attendance by contacting parents about events, volunteer opportunities, and attendance concerns.
- Review and approve Servant Leader Intern lesson plans and evaluate curriculum implementation.
- Participate in training and planning sessions with Servant Leader Interns and staff.
- Input and monitor child, parent, and staff enrollment data in reporting systems.
- Submit required reports, evaluations, and documentation by deadlines.
- Track and document student evaluation data for the Program Director and independent evaluators.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Preferably a bachelor’s degree in education, social work, youth development, program management, or extensive experience in the field.
- Experience managing large groups of children, college-aged young people, volunteers, and parents.
- Solid commitment to children’s advocacy and enthusiasm for the NCCF Freedom Schools program.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to the ethics of character, humility, and servant leadership.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to utilize hand and eye coordination and manual agility. The employee may be required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the responsibilities of the employee’s job, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the employee will encounter. Salary: $40/hour
